Wednesday of the 11th Week of Ordinary Time

In today's Gospel we hear about how to pray. We are told not to pray as the hypocrites do, in a public obvious manner, but much rather we are told to pray in secret to a God who answers in secret. This Gospel reminds us why do we choose to be Christian. Are we following God because of what we want other people to think of us, or are we Christian for more personal of a reason, to truly honor God because that is what we want to do. It also shows that we do not need to prove ourselves to society. We don't have to have the biggest house, or the newest car. We don't have to have the best clothes, or to be the talk of the street. All we have to do is make God happy by serving him and his people through every act we do. In conclusion, reevaluate yourself, look deep within and ask yourself if what you are doing on this earth truly satisfies God.
